At a Glance

This page explains how Visually Speaking works to make the website easier to use and access for everyone.

Visually Speaking is committed to providing an accessible website experience for all users, including those who use assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen enlargement software, and alternative keyboard input devices.

Ongoing Efforts to Ensure Accessibility

We follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.1 as our guiding standard for accessibility. These are internationally recognized standards that include a wide range of recommendations for making digital content more accessible and usable. As we develop new pages and features, our design, content, and code are reviewed to align with these guidelines.

Website accessibility is an ongoing process. We regularly review our content and features for WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance and address any issues we identify.

Testing is carried out by our team using a combination of tools and approaches, including accessibility checkers such as the Accessibility Checker WordPress Plugin, color contrast tools, keyboard-only navigation, and Flesch-Kincaid readability tests.

While we aim to ensure accessibility across our website, we cannot guarantee the accessibility of third-party websites we may link to.

Accessibility in Practice

We design and review our website with accessibility in mind, including:

  • Clear headings and structured layouts for easier navigation
  • Readable fonts and strong color contrast
  • Keyboard-friendly navigation
  • Compatibility with screen readers and assistive tools
  • Image descriptions (alternative text) to support screen readers
  • Intentional language and “at a glance” summaries to support different ways of reading and understanding.
